A Hetian jade bangle is tough, but it is not indestructible. Most damage happens during ordinary moments: knocking a wrist against a sink, dropping a bangle on tile, or leaving it in a jewellery box with harder stones. A few simple habits make a real difference.
A gentle clean is usually enough
For everyday dust or skin oil, wipe the bangle with a soft, slightly damp cotton cloth. If it needs more, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild, unscented soap, then rinse and pat it dry. There is no prize for making jade squeaky clean. The goal is to remove residue without stressing the stone or its polish.

- Keep water lukewarm rather than hot.
- Dry the inner ring as carefully as the outer surface.
- Avoid abrasive powders, whitening toothpaste, and rough brushes.
Take it off for the messy jobs
